Aussie Vacation! Picture Heavy

Happy Memorial Day!

First, a thank you to all the men and women who have served our county with great honor to keep us safe and free , a heartfelt thank you. May God bless America!

Now that summer is officially here I am ready for vacation! A couple of years ago we took the trip of a lifetime to visit my daughter in Australia. I have over 2000 pictures! That is a massive scrapbook! I really wanted something to put on my coffee table to share some of the highlights of our trip and the Heart of Texas Big Vacation album fit the need. It is a variety of fun shapes and can hold a ton of pictures. So here are a few highlights from our time in Sydney...

I used the Tim Holtz Custom Metal Knobs... isn't it cool? The letters are from Maya Road, colored with my Copics and then topped with Glossy Accents.

I used a couple of different travel lines throughout the book... Authentique Abroad and Now Boarding by Kaiserkraft.

I really had a great time putting this book together. It will be at The Crafty Scrapper if you would like to see it in person!

I still have a few spots open in the class I am teaching at The Crafty Scrapper on Saturday. It is a keepsake box with 3 tags... it would make a great gift for Mom! If you have any questions let me know or you can call the store to sign up at 972-923-3151

Puppy Love Layout

Hello everyone! It's Gena and I wanted to share a sweet layout I made of my baby girl Daisy! Isn't she beautiful?

I used the new pet line from BoBunny, Happy Tails. As most of you know, I love sketches, so I found one that I liked and started to create.

I used the paper to create individual embellishments. One of the tags even has her name already printed on there, but there are also plenty blank ones that you could stamp your fur-baby's name on there.

I also used my border punched to add a little flair.

Thanks for stopping by... hope to see you soon at The Crafty Scrapper!

Altered Paintbrush Swap

Hi everyone! I wanted to share a fun altered project I did for a swap that I was in... we did altered paint brushes! How fun is that?? Here is a picture of the one I created.
My partner said she liked vintage 50's and these are the colors that came to mind. They were a little bright but I just went with it and I LOVED the result. It was fun and it definitely made me go out of my box! Thanks for stopping by! Gena

Always & 4ever

Hi everyone! Today I wanted to share a simple album I created with the Pebbles Valentine line Yours Truly. Each page simply highlights someone I love!
I used some of my favorite dies on the front of the book... the Tim Holtz Word Play and the rosette die. The wood doily is from Maya Road.
On my girls page I added just a flower a some buttons to add a little girly touch.
On my boys page I added this border with metal brads down the edge... it helps to add a masculine feel.
I hope you will come by The Crafty Scrapper and see the rest of the book and pick up the supplies to make yourself a fun book of those you love!

Head over Heels Valentine Layout

I was so excited to receive my first design team assignment for the Crafty Scrapper design team! I rushed home, pulled everything out and NOTHING! The creativity was just NOT there. I bet you have been there. When I need some help to get the creative jucies going I use sketches. You can find them on our Pintrest page, magazines and one of my favorites,

Here is the sketch I used:

Here is the finished layout:

I followed the sketch closely on this layout but sometimes I will start and it sparks an idea and I make it my own. I wanted my title to be a little bigger than on the sketch so I pulled out one of my favorite alphabet dies... the Tim Holtz Word Play die... It's a great playful font.

I cut my chipboard and then colored the pieces with a black Copic marker.

Then I added Glossy Accents to the top of the letters. You can also use it on other parts of you page that you want to highlight.

I really like the Head Over Heeels collection by Bo Bunny... It's so so easy to put different patterned papers together. You can find this collection at the Crafty Scrapper... Come on down and I will help you put it together!
